Agenda

Transformation through Mobility

The international annual Global Mobility Roundtable (GMR) event is organized in Cairo in 2009 during the period 1-3 November by the International Executive Education Institute (IEEI) of the American University in Cairo.

GMR aims to enable the exchange of knowledge about best practices in the mobile industry and facilitate communication and collaboration among global players.

The theme of GMR2009 is Transformation through Mobility. GMR2009 aims to explore the essential research questions underlying dynamics and expected viability of m-business from several perspectives, one of these perspectives is Internet mobile and wireless access from 3G networks to the embedded broadband devices.

IEEI plans to organize a workshop in IGF2009 under the “access” theme to share with the participants the findings and lessons learned from GMR2009 with a focus on emerging applications and trends of mobile and wireless Internet access. The workshop will highlight the findings of the Worldwide Mobile Data Services Survey (WMDSS), a consortium of universities and research institutes that conduct an annual standardized survey of mobile device users to identify current and potential needs, compare market trends and perform a longitudinal trend analysis for mobile data services. Egypt is participating in this year WMDSS survey.
